The 2018 Events Calendar

The release of the 2018 events calendar sets Lydden Hill Race Circuit up for an exciting and unforgettable year of racing, festivals and events. Expanding on the back of a successful year in 2017 Lydden will continue to host a wide range of events at the one mile, mixed surface circuit on two, three and four wheels.

Traditionally, the first of two visits from the MSA Toyo Tires British Rallycross Championship will get the season underway on 2nd April followed by one of two multi championship LHMC Race Day’s on 7th April.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the BHP show will take place on the 7th May followed by the return of the Norasport British Supermoto Championship on the bank holiday weekend 26th/27th May.

VMCC Vintage Motorcyle Racing Club will then kick off a memorable summer when they descend on the historic Lydden Hill circuit on 23rd/24th June. The Lydden Hill Classic Festival which, after a successful first event in 2017, will be expanding to a weekend event on 7th/8th July, will continue to feature racing from the Classic Touring Car Racing Club. The Borough 19 sprint will then return on the 14th July before finishing the month with a weekend of two wheel action on the 21st/22nd July with both the Café Race Cup and Legends of Lydden.

August will offer plenty of entertainment for families as children under 13 are able to visit free for the BTRC Lydden Truck Festival featuring demo truck racing alongside racing from the BARC to include the Pickup Truck championship on August 18th/19th. The MSA Toyo Tires British Rallycross Championship then makes its second visit to the sports spiritual home on the 27th August before the rallycross action continues with the BTRDA Rallycross Championship taking place on the 8th September.

The second LHMC Race Day will then begin the autumn action on the 6th October before the event many bike enthusiasts have been waiting for, The Lord of Lydden, makes a return to the circuit on 20th October. MotorMania will then conclude a memorable year of events with a bang when the circuit hosts its annual fireworks celebration following a mixture of Motorsport on 3rd November.

Throughout 2018 there will still be many opportunities to take to the circuit on both the car and bike trackdays, Sideways Saturdays and experience days. Some new additions for 2018 include Car track days giving you the ability to complete your ARD’s test with The Motorsports School and Sideways Saturdays seeing a change in format to include the return of the full circuit with dates to be added after review.
