In a thrilling race against the clock, two competitors will start side-by-side and tackle two laps of the famous rallycross and tarmac circuit.
What makes this event unique is that the two laps will feature entirely different layouts, presenting distinct challenges for the drivers to overcome.
The class winners will be determined by the quickest time in each class and a showdown featuring all class winners to conclude the event!
This is a rally event specifically put on for those in the rally fraternity in the South-East, so whether you’re participating or spectating this isn’t one to miss.

Event Overview
The LHDC Rally Sprint is a time-based competition where two drivers will start simultaneously side-by-side. Each lap of the race will follow a unique circuit configuration, swapping over halfway through, testing not only speed but also adaptability and skill. Drivers will attempt to post their fastest laps, and the winners will be determined by the quickest time in their respective classes.
To add to the excitement, a head-to-head showdown featuring all class winners based on their quickest time will take place. A dramatic finish to what promises to be an exhilarating day!
Facilities, Saturday Night
As a competitor of the LHMC Rally Sprint, you will have access to all of the Lydden Hill Race Circuit facilities including:
- Locally sourced and freshly prepared quality food & drink from our in-house permanent Food Bay.
- Access from midday Friday to the tarmac paddock with electrical hookup including hard-standing toilets and hot showers
Who Can Enter?
The LHDC Rallysprint is designed specifically for competitors from the rally fraternity in the South-East and welcomes a wide range of vehicles. Eligible cars include:
- Rally cars conforming to Motorsport UK Regulation R.46 to R.49 running in the following classes:
- Class 1 – under 1650cc
- Class 2 – over 1650cc
Class 2a – BMW MINI R50 & R53 - Class 3 – Homologated (and formerly homologated) FIA R5, Rally 2and S2000
- Class 4 – 4WD
- Rally Legends – pre 1992 rallycars running in the following classes:
- Class 1 – under 1650cc
- Class 2 – over 1650cc
- Class 3 – 4WD
- Junior cars complying with current J1000 technical regulations
- FIA Cross Cars
- Rallycross cars – 2WD vehicles only complying with 2025 Rallycross Championship regulations issued by LHMC or BTRDA (including Junior class’s)
Entry fee: £250
Note: Vehicles with forced induction will have engine capacities adjusted using a 1.7 equivalency factor.
To compete, drivers must hold at least a Motorsport UK Interclub licence and comply with all scrutineering requirements, including helmets, flame-resistant suits, and FHR devices as outlined by the event SR’s found below.
The Format
Here’s a glimpse into the approximate. schedule for the day:
- 07:00: Scrutineering opens
- 08:15: Drivers’ briefing
- 09:00: Competition begins
The Track
The Rally Sprint takes full advantage of Lydden Hill’s iconic circuit, incorporating:
- Unrivalled spectating – A rally event for rally cars that can be enjoyed by the whole team. Lydden Hill is a natural amphitheatre with views across the entire circuit thanks to the unique and testing undulations of the circuit alongside spectator facilities this is the perfect event for Rally drivers to bring their friends and family!
- A combination of sealed tarmac and loose surfaces.
- Tabletop jumps and gradients to add dynamic challenges.
- A crossover point on the start/finish line, ensuring an innovative track layout for each lap.
Competitors will navigate sharp bends, straights, and chicanes in a race against the clock. With every lap offering a unique challenge, drivers will need to adapt quickly to maximize their performance!
