In a thrilling race against the clock, two competitors will start side-by-side and tackle two laps of the famous rallycross and tarmac circuit. Each driver will be given three attempts to set the fastest time possible.
What makes this event unique is that the two laps will feature entirely different layouts, presenting distinct challenges for the drivers to overcome.
The winners will be determined by the quickest time in each class, and, if time permits, a showdown featuring all class winners will conclude the event!
This is a rally event specifically put on for those in the rally fraternity in the South-East, so whether you’re participating or spectating this isn’t one to miss.

Competitor Information
Lydden Hill Motorsport Club (LHMC) is thrilled to bring you the inaugural LHMC Rally Sprint season, with three double-header events scheduled for 2025 plus a test day, this comes after the postponement of the 2024 event. These exciting fixtures bring the adrenaline of rallying to a circuit setting with the technical challenge of a two-lap race against the clock, each lap presenting a distinct course layout.

Event Overview
The LHMC Rally Sprint is a time-based competition where two drivers will start simultaneously side-by-side. Each lap of the race will follow a unique circuit configuration, swapping over halfway through, testing not only speed but also adaptability and skill. Drivers will have three timed attempts to post their fastest laps, and the winners will be determined by the quickest time in their respective classes.
If time permits, we’ll turn up the excitement with a showdown featuring all class winners, providing a dramatic finish to what promises to be an exhilarating day.
Facilities, Saturday Night Live Music and Pie & Pint
As a competitor of the LHMC Rally Sprint, you will have access to all of the Lydden Hill Race Circuit facilities including:
- Pre-bookable Pie & Pint meal deal plus live music in the VIP Entertainment marquee free to attend for all competitors, teams, spectators and marshals!
- Locally sourced and freshly prepared quality food & drink from our in-house permanent Food Bay.
- Access from midday Friday to the tarmac paddock with electrical hookup including hard-standing toilets and hot showers
Who Can Enter?
The LHMC Rally Sprint is designed specifically for competitors from the rally fraternity in the South-East and welcomes a wide range of vehicles. Eligible cars include:
- Rally cars conforming to Motorsport UK regulations R.46 to R.49, divided into the following classes:
- Class 1: Under 1650cc
- Class 2: Over 1650cc
- Sub-class: BMW MINI R50 & R53
- Class 3: Homologated (& formerly homologated) FIA R5, Rally2 and S2000 cars
- Class 4: 4WD
- Historic Rally (pre-1992 cars) with identical class divisions as above excluding class 3.
- Junior Cars meeting current J1000 technical regulations.
Double-Header Entry fee: £495 (Plus 2025 LHMC Membership £30)
Note: Vehicles with forced induction will have engine capacities adjusted using a 1.7 equivalency factor.
To compete, drivers must hold at least a Motorsport UK Interclub licence, be members of the LHMC, and comply with all scrutineering requirements, including helmets, flame-resistant suits, and FHR devices as outlined by Motorsport UK.
The Format
Here’s a glimpse into the schedule for the day:
- 07:00: Scrutineering opens
- 08:15: Drivers’ briefing
- 09:00: Competition begins
Competitors are encouraged to walk the course before 08:10 to familiarize themselves with the track layouts. During the competition, each run will follow this seeding structure:
- Run 1: Reverse seeding within classes.
- Run 2: Ordered by times from Run 1, with fastest drivers running last.
- Run 3: Ordered by the fastest times from either Run 1 or Run 2.
Awards will be presented for:
- Fastest Time of the Day (FTD)
- Class winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd depending on class size)
The Track
The Rally Sprint takes full advantage of Lydden Hill’s iconic circuit, incorporating:
- Unrivalled spectating – A rally event for rally cars that can be enjoyed by the whole team. Lydden Hill is a natural amphitheatre with views across the entire circuit thanks to the unique and testing undulations of the circuit alongside spectator facilities this is the perfect event for Rally drivers to bring their friends and family!
- A combination of sealed tarmac and loose surfaces.
- Tabletop jumps and gradients to add dynamic challenges.
- A crossover point on the start/finish line, ensuring an innovative track layout for each lap.
Competitors will navigate sharp bends, straights, and chicanes in a race against the clock. With every lap offering a unique challenge, drivers will need to adapt quickly to maximize their performance!
